Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) http://www.pbs.org/ American non-profit public broadcasting television service. Roper polls have consistently placed the service as America's most trusted national institution, but PBS is not responsible for all programming carried on public TV stations.
NPR - formerly National Public Radio http://www.npr.org/ NPR produces and distributes news and cultural programming. NPR's flagships are two drive time news broadcasts, Morning Edition and the afternoon All Things Considered; among the popular radio programs in the country.
British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/ BBC is the largest and first broadcasting organization in the world, with global headquarters are located in London. Digg - http://digg.com/news/ a human powered news aggregator - Digg is a social news website. The site's cornerstone function consists of letting people vote stories up or down, called digging.
WikiNews - http://en.wikinews.org/ a free-content news source wiki and a project of the Wikimedia Foundation. The site works through collaborative journalism. The neutral point of view policy espoused in Wikinews distinguishes it from other citizen journalism efforts such as Indymedia and OhmyNews.

Redistricting - definition from Wikipedia. Political boundaries and school districts are changing as a result of the decennial U.S. Census. (every 10 years). This will have wide reaching consequences and has influenced political maneuvering including gerrymandering, (see below.)
Apportionment - definition from Wikipedia allocating political power, recently been apportioned among constituencies based on population. This differs in the U.S. Senate and the House of Representatives.
Gerrymandering - definition from Wikipedia a form of boundary redistricting in which electoral district are deliberately modified for electoral purposes, may be used to achieve desired electoral results for a particular party, or group. (class or race)
